Hey y'all, it's Cait checking in from Europe! I just wrapped up my time in London, the land of the Royals, Harry Styles, and a bloody good time! Here is a recap of all the sights and scenes of London Town!
It was a bit chilly so I wore our Rebekah sweater dress with this adorable quilted jacket I bought in a little shop in Notting Hill! This day we hit all the big tourist spots like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey. Then we went into Liberty's which is one of the big department stores in London where they actually design their own prints for scarves, purses, pajamas and more! We also walked around Carnaby street for more shopping!
Even though it's June it was another chilly day in London so I wore our Greer shirt with my favorite white flare jeans from the Gap. We started our day at the V&A museum for a guided tour of the fashion history section of the museum, we saw everything from regency style gowns to the patchwork cardigan Harry Styles wore once rehearsing for the today show! From there we went to Harrods and of course I immediately went to the 5th floor for SHOE HEAVEN! We wrapped up our day with hearing from a costume designer that makes all of the background character costumes for movie production companies like Disney, Netflix and HBO!
Since we went to the Tower of London to see the Crown Jewels this day I channeled some crown energy with our champagne Luna skirt, I paired it with Camille sweater. The Tower of London was super fun unfortunately they don’t let you take any pics inside so you'll just have to take my word for it that the jewels were stunning. Our next stop was to the Fashion & Textiles Museum to see their Andy Warhol exhibit, we were able to see lots of textiles and clothing pieces he designed. Next up was a very British stop: a hat milliner! This particular milliner has made hats and headpieces for many celebrities and some of the Royals including Princess Beatrice. She even showed us how to make a hat! We capped off our day with a round of indoor putt putt and seeing Newsies at the Wembley Park Theatre.
Time for our first day trip: Bath! We went to the Jane Austen Centre and learned more about the fashions of the Regency Era. We were able to walk around and explore the city, the coolest part about being in Bath is this is where they filmed parts of Bridgerton! We found the Featherington's house and a few other spots from the show. Once back in London, we got to see Moulin Rouge which was SO GOOD!!!
We started our Friday with a walking tour of the Royal Fashion District of London where there are many shoe shops, hat stores and more that have Royal Warrants meaning that is where the Royals shop!! Then we went to Kensington Palace to see their new exhibit Crown to Couture where they showed how Royal fashion and red carpet fashion are connected! They had so many pieces from past met galas and I LOVED IT! Of course we had to walk around the palace gardens before leaving.
And now for our next day trip: Richmond! The Neill family are huge Ted Lasso fans so of course I had to go to the town where it was filmed! AFC Richmond, the fictional football club, wears red and blue kits, obviously I had to sport our blue Valerie pants to show my fiction support! My friends and I ate in the pub that’s in the show, The Prince's Head, and just walked around and explored, We ended the day back in London and went to Camden Market to see all of the little shops and food stands.
Sunday Funday! Our main activity for today was going to afternoon tea at sketch which was SO CUTE!!! I’m normally not a hot tea girl but we got this elderberry tea that was so good and I really liked it. We’ve all seen the ICONIC sketch bathrooms on social media with the egg shaped pods and rainbow light up ceiling, so you know I had a full photoshoot in our Vivian dress! We spent the rest of the day doing any last minute activities before we left the next morning for Paris!
