UT Austin just wrapped their 1st season in the SEC and needless to say it did not disappoint! While my Longhorns didn't end up conference champs, we are playoff bound and that is something to celebrate!
I have been going to Texas Longhorn football games at DKR for as long as I can remember, but I wasn't always the most stylish fan in Section 2. Growing up on the 40 Acres, we loved a good t-shirt and denim short combo. It wasn't until I got to high school and started paying attention to SEC game day style - aka I discovered the Grove at Ole Miss on ESPN - that I decided to step up my outfit game.
I have loved living back in Austin post-grad and being able to bring all that I learned in the SEC to my home campus! With this season being UT's SEC debut, you know I had to go all out. Plus we were vendors at the university's Big Bertha's Bazaar all season, so I also had to dress to impress! Check out some of my favorite Texas game day outfits from this season!
Colorado State (W, 52-0)
I feel like this outfit just screams TEXAS! FIGHT! The moment we saw this burnt orange denim vest we knew it had to be part of our game day collection.
I paired it with a denim skirt, that was simple but had a little extra something with the cuff detail, and some fun snake print booties that I have had for years.
This was such a great way to start off our season! This was the inaugural Big Bertha's Bazaar for the University of Texas and we were so lucky to have been a part of it!
UTSA (W, 56-7)
TBH this may be one of the most iconic game day outfits I have ever had. I felt like I was channeling my inner Briley King and I was SO proud of myself.
This midi length dress was a bit of a gamble because while the base was the perfect shade of Texas orange, the striped details were olive green. BUT it paired perfectly with the green details in my Saturday Silks skinny scarf.
I highly recommend Veja sneakers for game days and these were too good to pass up with the burnt orange accents. And last but not least, the hat was a spur of the moment purchase from the UT x Aviator Nation booth at BBB that day.
ULM (W, 51-3)
I feel like this season I went through a hat phase. I always came straight from the dance studio to the stadium so I think while a style choice the hats were also to distract from the fact that I didn't really do my hair. I found this one at a fun Austin gift store on Burnet called Atown!
I paired this top with some denim shorts and the same Vejas from the week before - seriously those became my default game day shoe!
One of my favorite parts about being a vendor at Big Bertha's Bazaar was by week 3, Texas fans would come back by our booth to show me that they had their Good Vibez Collegiate Texas gameday button on! It is always so wild to see my products on customers in real life!
UGA (L, 15-30)
Despite the fact that this was a loss for the Longhorns, this was my favorite game of the season! My grad school bestie Liz was able to come to town for the game and it was so fun getting to be back on campus together!
I tend to dress to the opponent so I thought a touch of black would be perfect to take on the Dawgs. I paired our bertha dress (yep we named it after our iconic drum and if you don't know what I am talking about you can read about it here) with my black Annie boots from Tecovas. I am also going to link Liz's skirt here, it's from the brand Favorite Daughter and it is too good not to share!
I am so excited that Texas made it into the College Football Playoffs and that we get to host a first round game at DKR - which means yes there will be more M&V gameday content coming soon! We will be vendors again at Big Bertha's Bazaar, so if you are going to the game or even if you are just hanging out around campus that weekend, come see us! Hook'em y'all🤘🏼
